The Sunday, after church, clear-up
Now some reading recommendations for you from the past week. Firstly, a couple of humourous posts that made me giggle like a schoolgirl:
ENOUGH ABOUT ME: AN AUTOBIOGRAPHY
PADRE MICKEY'S DANCE PARTY
And secondly, a testimony from THE 40-YEAR OLD SEMINARIAN that is full of thought provoking real life observations. The sort of stuff I know you lot appreciate.
Thirdly, and finally for this section. The Blessed Pat has put up a photoshoppy at NO CLAIM TO SAINTHOOD of which, if I had thought of it, I would have been extremely proud. Snark Of The Week in my book.
And we have a new friend and I'm really pleased to inform you that he is not Anglican (a refreshing change) and he is Australian (e.g. not American - another refreshing change). His name is Paul and his site is called GETTING THERE:2 STEPS FORWARD 1 BACK. Go and say hello. We quite often look at stuff from Australia and New Zealand so it will be great to have a person on the ground who can explain their own particular brand of weirdness to us.
And one final thing. I don't normally post the emails I receive especially when they are personal but I've decided to share this one with you because, although it is addressed to me I think it should be a communal pat on the back for all of us. This blog doesn't have specific goals but over the year we have evolved our own culture within our own community and, as well as having a laff, we have done some good things. This email shows that those good things have not just benefited ourselves. I would also point out that this is, by no means, the only email like this I have received. So well done all of you. Against incredible odds you are living the Kingdom better than most.
Dear MP,
Thanks so much for your blog. Living in the same city as Ted Haggard, Focus on the Family, and a lot of people who think like them, it's very refreshing to read comments from folks who think. Between you and Father Jake I've returned to Chapel of our Savior Episcopal Church after several years of lapsed attendance.
I just wanted to let you know. My partner, Eric and I celebrated 3 years together this last December.
Thanks again.
Your brother in Christ

I think that many of us can echo the sentiments of your correspondent. Where better than to go to the insane for a bit of sanity?
Thank you Maddie! I love getting praise from the Master Snarkster!
Please, gentle people; what did I miss? Who is "insane"? Other than those running this U S into the ground, of course.
Johnie,
Have you not realized? We are all quite mad.
