in days of old when knights were bold
and popemobiles weren't invented

From RUSSIA TODAY:

Spanish Templars, who consider themselves to be the inheritors of the knight order destroyed in the 14th century, are suing Pope Benedict XVI and demanding the restoration of their order. They want the decision to forbid the activity of the Templar Knights Order to be reconsidered and they also want the fact of confiscation of Orders property to be labeled illegal. However, they are not demanding the return of the property.

The complaint is now considered by the Second Instance court of Spanish capital. The Fist Instance Court refused to do it as it doestn't have authority to work with cases dating from 700 years ago.

COMMENT: They don't want the return of the property?!!! Could someone send an American lawyer out to Madrid straight away. I think there are some very silly knights there who could do with a little legal advice (no win, no fee, of course).

Well not totally off topic, the 'Russia Today' folks need an English reader to proofread their copy...

Any volunteers?

Spanish Templars, eh?

I guess that's all right, considering that Joe fancies himself a Teutonic Knight.

BTW of course the property didn't matter; it was the honor and dignity of the Order itself that mattered.

Given that back, they can accumulate more property!
