C'mon NP - you can't play anything this great without some more info. It sounds like Steve Harley singing, or did Cockney Rebel record something in their own?

It certainly is Steve Harley singing.
These are tracks off the second and third Cockney Rebel albums. When they started out they were just called Cockney Rebel. It was between the second and third album that they changed the name to Steve Harley and Cockney Rebel - but I never did. Harley was an arrogant bugger back then. He's much nicer now and has, for many years, been an active member and church warden of his local bog-standard Church of England congregation.

Thought it was him, but wasn't certain. I've got a live thing of theirs called "Star for a Day" which periodically goes on high rotation in the Casa del Caliban - it's a perfect combination of bloody awful & sheer magic: everything great music should be.
Clearly it's now time to start hunting down some more.
