Lovely demarcation in the feathers. I like the way the colors are more blended that on the Bullfinch. The Bullfinch's colors are lovely, but not as interesting as the sparrow. Of course they are meant to attract other birds, not us humans! And the Sparrow is much more camouflaged to protect it from predators. Shall we discuss the religious significance of it all? I'm sure others will be much more articulate than I.
They're both utterly beautiful birds, but at the risk of seeming to agree with everything Mad Priest has said today, I do agree. Nothing makes me happier than the sound of sparrows chirping. Though that's a slightly different issue.
I have known human "common house sparrows" that I have found to be much more beautiful that the "bull finches" of this world. Flash doesn't always turn out to be true substance, does it?
Ah! So when Patti Smith sang, "Jesus died for somebody's sins but not mine," at the beginning of her song, "Gloria," she was referring to KJ. In fact, we're all off the hook - except our prudish friend from Seattle.

ReplyDeleteOo! WV: "bilesome"
KJ!!! And here I was thinking you was such a nice boy!! I demand a refund.
ReplyDeletePS. You'll have to ask Mimo. I am merely her plaything.
ReplyDeleteMust you post a pic of the English import that poops all over our patio?
ReplyDeleteI'm beginning to think that KJ is not a nice boy.
Cathy! This is the internet! You don't tell all on the internet!
Mimo
KJ is the Jeckyll and Hyde of teh prudish agenda.
ReplyDeleteExactly. It's all KJ's fault. In fact now I think about it absolutely everything that has ever gone wrong with anything is all KJ's fault.
