My aunt, Dad's younger sister from Montana has come to be with us in Dad's final days. Early this morning around 3:00, her German Shepherd/Shar Pei mix, "Lady", came to sit vigil with me next to Dad's bed, and no manner of coaxing was going to remove her from her station. So, we sat, dozed and attended.
