The only good side of this story: the AMOUNT of OUTRAGE it's generated [I found this story, as side link while, obsessive fan, was tracking My San Francisco Giants. The Giants story had about 100 comments---the dog shooting story, over 500!]
And, it was picked up by my local paper (here in Sacramento), in its hard-copy edition. My (90 year-old) father saw it, and was very upset (there's a reason I'm a second-generation Lab lover).
