ReplyDeleteI see that once again the primate of the AC West Indies has managed to shirk his duty. Neither he, nor his recent predecessor, have participated in the Metropolitan Council for the extra-provential Diocese of Cuba for a number of years now. Cannot be bothered because That Woman, and That Canadian are also on the council, so the two of them have been doing all the heavy lifting.
But they have given Cuba the first three latina bishops, in quick succession, two suffragan and now a diocesan, formerly co-adjutor, in the history of Anglican Latin America.

ReplyDelete+Griselda was our guest at St. John's in Tallahassee this fall. The newspaper sent a photographer and it was quite the statement five years after the schism that rocked that parish to have photos of a women serving as bishops, priests, and eucharistic ministers on the front page of the local paper. I'm sure it made those who left to hold hands with Uganda very, very angry.
A different soundtrack for that occassion: Annie Lennox and Aretha Franklin singing "Sisters Are Doing It For Themselves".
