Sex & God & Rock & Roll
I am eagerly awaiting Elizabeth Kaeton's comments on this post.Actually, I don't find these ads anywhere on the Episcopal Divinity School site. http://www.eds.edu/The bread recipe is on the linked 99 Brattle blog. http://99brattle.blogspot.com/But no babes or guns. MP, who is your internet service provider?
The Episcopal Divinity School is on our side, Bill. We made sure they were aware of their faux pas, and had time to correct the mistake, before I went to press on it. Really, what do you take me for - a complete bounder?
...which is why you only advertise Amazon, not Google, eh Mad One? ;-p[IF this is discovered by "the Usual Suspects" (to bitch at EDS), I suggest they make up the benefit EDS gets from Google ads---or else shaddup!][FYI, this isn't nearly as bad as anti-gay ads which I've seen on LGBT sites. They (the sites) couldn't control the Almighty Google Ad Algorithms either.]
I think google ads reap about .02 to 2.00 depending if people click through.
The ads come up due to content of the site mainly - as I understand it. Read about it here
We made sure they were aware of their faux pasI note your use of the royal "we". Are you still hoping it will turn out you are the rightful heir to the throne? ... ;)
I thought that the ads were served up with regard to the past searches and web surfing history of the person actually doing the surfing, so we would all possibly get different ads.I always got Scientology ads at Father Kelvins site, but he had no idea what I was speaking about. Now I never see any ads, but others make comments about what they see. I think that it is because I have locked my cookies folder to Read Only, as opposed to Read & Write, and all the cookies for a day disappear at the end of the day when I quit Safari.
"The ads come up due to content of the site mainly - as I understand it. Read about it here."Actually it sounds like cookies. This would explain why MP gets babes and guns on the EDS site, and I just get the EDS! Oh, to be young again....!
The we was plural.
This would explain why MP gets babes and guns on the EDS site, and I just get the EDS! Oh, to be young again....!They are not my screen grabs (why would I be visiting the blog?). And my source is about as NOT into babes and guns as you could possibly imagine.
The we was pluralOh, I don't buy that for a second :-)Mind you, for your coronation, Mad Priest, I would wave a flag. I don't say that it would be the British flag, but I would wave it.
See my reply to Bill. Do you think you are the only person who sends stuff in to me?
Mad One, heavens above, I'm only teasin'. Can you not tell from my wink? ...
You'll be hearing from my solicitors.
Shouldn't that be "our solicitors"? ...Oh nevermind.
You have been a very naughty MadPriest, Johnathan.
Doesn't that model have grey lingerie on? Yuk!
Chelliah, I would have said it was beige. It's a bit substantial, but otherwise quite nice, I would have thought? Well that model makes it look good, anyway.
Grey lingerie is for Lent. Black was just out of the question.
Cathy, that model does make it look good but it still looks Grey to me.
A mystery!! It could just be the variation between computer screens. That can make a whole lot of difference with colours on the internet :-)Anyway, either way, I shan't be buying lingerie or guns via the Episcopal Divinity School any time soon, I'm afraid.
Renz, you wear grey lingerie for Lent? ...
Cathy, I have looked at the photo over and over again and the colour of the lingerie still seems to be Grey. It must be something to do with computer pixels, screens etc.
Notice how the lingerie on the quite luscious model is referred to in the ad as being for 'big girls' ? It's really getting tiresome to see normal women with nice, curvy figures being dismissed as 'big'. Sorry gang, but I don't find women who look like skinny, teenaged boys all that attractive :P
