OH, GROSS!

From WSFA12 NEWS:

A vial containing blood drawn from Pope John Paul II shortly before he died will be installed as a relic in a Polish church soon after his beatification later this year. Piotr Sionko, the spokesman for the John Paul II Center, said the vial will be encased in crystal and built into the altar of a church in the southern city of Krakow that is opening in May.

  3. On a day that a Popoid Canon Lawyer has said "Deacons cannot schtupp their wives...EVER", nothing the Popoids do surprises me (nauseates, but doesn't surprise me!)

  4. Perhaps this should be broadcast more because it covers all clergy, deacons and priests, including the Anglican defectors. If they were made aware of this on a wider basis, I bet certain priests would be less excited to make the swim.

  5. Although he is a canon lawyer, Ed Peters is a layman and therefore a nonentity in the Roman Catholic Church. Until the Vatican decides to run with it (if they do) it's simply his opinion and binding on no one.

  6. As for JPII, at least it's not a finger or some other body part. The chopping-up of dead saints for relics, and the general RC fascination with their dead bodies always creeped me out when I was a Catholic.

(And I'm talking about the vial of blood from John Paul II.)

  9. Oh, how wonderfully reliable of Ellie's dear friend, Paul, to notice what she does and does not consider to be icky!

    :-)
