When you read the words of Jesus Christ do not be like the church leaders and theologians who ask themselves, "What could he mean?" But be like the holy fools and ask yourselves, "What does he mean?"
Yes, thank you. Having spoken to my presbytery last weekend, and having heard people declare that they are so sure that God "says what he means and means what he says" regarding glbtq ordination... I am tired of all the certainty. (also their "broken hearts" at "having to uphold scriptural standards.") It causes me to question-- are they listening to Jesus? At all?
