Don't knock him. Piotr Szczepanik was a well-known popular singer in Poland back in the day. He was active in Solidarity, and was recently awarded the Officer's Cross in the Order of the Rebirth of Poland. Good for him.
I was going to make a snarky remark about Polish spelling, and then remembered that we are English-speakers, so who are we to talk?

My guess is that this abomination had nothing to do with Piotr and everything to do with his record company's photographer.
