Oh, it's not just the Italians who are into this. I grew up attending an Anglican church that covered everything in drapes during Passiontide. They had a huge crucifix over the rood screen and after everyone replied, "He has risen in deed, Alleluia" at the vigil service, bells would ring, we would all clap and cheer and the curtains covering the crucifix were slowly lowered to the ground with ropes and pulleys to reveal Our Lord.
Of course, he was still on the cross, which never made that much sense to me.
You're on a roll.
ReplyDeleteI laughed at this one.
ReplyDelete::chuckles guilty:: (was raised RC, somethings never completely go away)
ReplyDeleteWhat is the charge for copying the cartoon?
ReplyDeleteYou know my motto - "Freely I steal, freely I give."
ReplyDeleteI already stole the cartoon, but I asked that praise or blame be posted over here, so I won't be accused of stealing your comments. :-)
ReplyDeleteNow when I see such coverings, I'm afraid I still think of Dahveed's Bum ("veiled in violet until Easter!") *LOL*
ReplyDeleteA pity and a shame, Dear Lord. :-( May it comfort you to know...Easter's Comin'! ;-)
Wicked! Wicked, Mad Priest! I believe you've had quite enough Marshmallow Peeps for one day!
ReplyDeleteGreat caption (says the ex-Catholic). And Ricks comment was expecially funny.
