From THE BDA SUN (Bermuda):
The first local ordination of an Anglican female deacon has been delayed, but the reason why remains unclear. Jennifer Hodgkins, who graduated from theological college in England, was expected to be ordained a deacon in the church when she qualified. But she is still waiting.
Ms Hodgkins said: “I’m not going to be ordained at this time. I can’t say anything else. You will have to talk to the Bishop.”
Dr Patrick White, Anglican Bishop of Bermuda, said: “It has been delayed, beyond that, I’m not going to say anything. It’s an internal church matter. I can’t really say where it’s going to go from here. It’s not going to happen right now, which is all I’m prepared to say.”
I'll comment: What's the problem, and why the secrecy? I wish her well.
