THE PRAYER LIST - 28TH. JUNE 2011

THANKSGIVING

Sally at ETERNAL ECHOES is off on her pre-ordination retreat. As she is a Methodist minister she has actually been doing the job for three years now and her ordination is more a part of an ongoing process than it would be in the Anglicanism where it is more of a beginning. Even so, it is a major event in her life pilgrimage and an affirmation of her commitment to serve God in a "priestly" role. So we thank God for calling such a brilliant person and pray that this weekend with be both delightful in itself and the beginning of a new and fulfilling stage in Sally's life.

Please keep our old friend, Bailey, Jay Simser's ageing companion, in your prayers. On his blog, BAILEY'S BUDDY, Jay writes:

Poor Bailey. He is getting more and more confused. Today he went outside and could not find his way back to the house. I left him out for quite awhile and finally had to go get him. He went around and around in circles. Mostly all he does is sleep. H likes his treats but Miles usually steals half of them while he is eating his. He is due to be 16 on August 25 so he is getting up there. He is not in any pain but his quality of life isn't what it used to be.

From AFP:

Two girls were confirmed killed and three customs officers wounded Monday in a fresh blast in the north Nigerian city, Maiduguri, where 25 people died a day earlier when suspected Islamists tossed bombs and fired on a crowded beer garden. Residents and witnesses put the death toll (at the most recent incident) at about a dozen.

  1. Aw, Bailey.

Would you all please pray for my (our) friend Skittles? Her financial situation has become very difficult.
