A wise person who makes one foolish mistake causes far more damage than a fool who never gets anything right. This is because people listen to a wise man whilst most ignore the fool.
This is as equally true for archbishops as anybody else and is why I never begin certain posts with "x is a very clever man" as some people feel compelled to do. If I did I feel I would only be adding to the hurt no matter how warranted the accolade.
