Professor MadPriest, who is the Dan Brown Chair of Theology at the Newcastle School of Applied Stupidity, has been in touch with OCICBW... to tell us about his latest research. He tells us that extensive research in the non-fiction section of the Northumberland mobile library van has led him to the conclusion that Jesus did not receive his name from the angel, Gabriel, at the Annunciation, as is generally believed, but after his resurrection. Apparently, Mary Magdalene had gone to his tomb only to find it empty. As she was hanging around outside the tomb, he appeared to her and said, "Mary." To which Mary replied, "Jesus Christ! Where did you come from?"
And the name stuck.
