Don't forget when you go to the sales on Boxing Day to ask the shop assistants if they are having a good Christmas.

  1. Over here a boot is what they put on one of your car's wheels to immobilize it when you're parked illegally. So it took me a moment to remember that in British a boot is what we call a trunk.
